I’ve been blogging for over a year now. In that time, I have found some blogs written by others that share my love for classic movies, TV, and music. By following these blogs, I learned what a Blogathon is. For those who don’t know, it is where various bloggers each contribute blogs based on a common theme. I have taken part in a couple of these in the past and I have enjoyed them very much! I am working on a couple of them right now and thought I’d post a little tease of what’s to come.
The 5th Annual Favorite TV Show Episode Blogathon
Terence over at “A Shroud of Thoughts” is hosting this blogathon. First of all, you can imagine how difficult it was for me to pick just one episode. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t. I picked four! HA! HA!
I will be writing on an episode of The Twilight Zone, two episodes of The Honeymooners, and a classic from WKRP in Cincinnati. These were the shows that I was able to really nail down “favorite” episodes for. Perhaps in the future I can write on other favorites from some of my other favorite shows.
The Mystery Mania Blogathon
Robin at Pop Culture Reverie is hosting this blogathon. I love mysteries and this was open to books, movies, or TV. My gut was to write about Perry Mason. I could have written on the last episode of Perry Mason, or the only case Perry ever lost, the only episode of the series shot in color, or the later Perry Mason movies. I then decided that maybe that could be something to do later on.
I then began to think about mysteries in general. I began to think about the great detectives and almost decided to write about Sherlock Holmes, but then began to think about one of my favorite parody comedy films – Murder By Death. The more I thought on this, I knew it would mean I would have to re-watch it (which I am always up for), so I chose this. Thinking about comedy, I could have easily picked Clue (which is an amazing film in itself) but that is on another list of “future topics” for me. I then stumbled on The Private Eyes with Tim Conway and Don Knotts in my movie collection. I am going to write on that, too.
Watch for them in March!
