Life’s Little Moments

This weekend, my boy Andrew turned 5! We are still wondering how that happened so fast! It it truly amazing to gauge time by how fast your kids grow.

He’s all about Minecraft. I’m not even sure how he knows about that, unless a classmate in preschool mentioned it, which is possible. So this year, he wanted a cake shaped like a Minecraft sword. Once again, Nana came through!

He chose to spend the day at one of the indoor aquatic centers nearby. They loved being in the pool and the indoor splash pad. He was too small to go down the big slide, but his sister did it a few times. They spent most of the time in the whilrpool.

On Sunday, I made soup. I love stuffed peppers, and there is a great recipe for an east stuffed pepper soup. The weather was a bit warmer than usual for soup, but it really hit the spot!

Our cat Maizey was losing her hair, especially by her tail. We took her to the vet, who asked us how stressed the cat was. Well, Bitsy, our other cat is always fighting with her and Mabel, our dog is always chasing her. For the most part, she sits under Ella’s bed all day and really doesn’t come out until everyone goes to bed. The vet said that if she wasn’t so stressed, she’d probably be fine.

We made the tough decision to do what was right for her. My sister-in-law recently moved to an apartment and has been wanting to get a cat. She already loved Maizey, so we asked if she might want to take her in. She did and Maizey is back to her old self. She is playing with yarn, cuddling on laps, and really a lot less stressed. The kids miss her, but we explained that it was better for her and stressed that we could go and visit anytime! Besides, she is sending us lots of pictures, too.

You may remember that I put up a fake flyer for a “Fundraiser for Keith” at work. This was to poke fun at my coworker who posted her daughter’s fundraiser around the building. I walked into work last night and the flyer was attached to a box of junk – literally, junk! I belly laughed when I looked at it.

Three pop cans, a mirror, a Y connector for our oxygen concentrators, a broken lightbulb, a lone socket, eraser, an empty hand cream container, a leaf, a heart, a piece of wood, some sort of decoration with green beads on it, a glove, and some piece of equipment that we never use. This is just one of the reasons I love my coworkers.

Oh, and before I forget, to my fellow Chrome Domes –
