Friday, we took the kids to a Trunk or Treat at the end of our street. There is a big Lutheran church there. We had no idea just how busy it would be! We were in line for almost an hour before we got to the first car! It was very well done, though. After folks were through the “trunks,” they had hot dogs, caramel apples, popcorn, and games to play. They even had a tent to warm up.
Some of the trunks were a bit scarier than I anticipated for a church event, but the kids were unphased by it. There were two that really stood out to me. The first was a tribute to Dolly Parton.

I loved how she even had the Opry microphone.
There was one trunk decked out like Shrek’s place. Andrew had to get a photo with Shrek.

After a few Trunk or Treats, Andrew was done with his Ghostbuster’s costume. He informed us of that an hour before trick or treating started. Thankfully, we had a “Pa” costume and he went as his Pa. Ella was still Glinda from Wicked.

It was a perfect night. The weather was mild and there were a lot of trick or treaters. Despite the warm weather, there will still folks that were offering parents little bottles of booze. LOL!
Now that both kids have expanders, we had to go through and get rid of all the candy that they cannot eat with it. Lots of sticky stuff had to go, but there was still plenty of chocolate. Now if they can keep mom and dad out of the candy bowl….
