Remember a couple months back when my daughter when to a fairy themed birthday party? If not, I remind you that they decked out the whole house and that they created a forest in their garage!
This weekend, the other child in that family had a Dumbo themed birthday party and once again, it was then envy of the neighborhood. The garage was done up to look like a big top tent.
It was crazy. They had a pizza truck out on the street passing out slices, peanuts, popcorn and circus snacks. And whoever does her cakes, well, they are amazing!
How can any parent live up to these party standards?!
I was going through some stuff in the basement Saturday night. I found a photo I had forgotten about. You may recall that when my band director passed away, I wrote a tribute to him. One of the things I mentioned was that my junior year, I got up and did an imitation of him. Well, when I was a senior, he turned the tables and did an impression of me.
It was the most uproarious laughter I’ve ever heard to this day! He nailed it. What a treasure this photo is.
Sunday, we tried a new church. I’m really picky about churches. I always have an issue if a preacher tries to take something out of context to fit their message. I also am picky about what bible they use. Anyway, we went to a friend’s church and the message was a good one. I had a few things that bothered me, but I’ll probably go one more time to see if I want to continue going. (I’m happy to elaborate on this if you are so inclined to ask)
Sunday night, I was on my phone playing a dumb trivia game. My daughter was next to me and cheering every time I got an answer right! If I got it wrong, she’s say, “I was going to tell you to answer that, daddy!” I loved every minute of it. Sam had to chuckle too and snap a photo.
My wife may be leaving her job if a possibility works out for us. She’d be on days and we would actually have weekends together. I truly hope that everything lines up and that she can take the position. It would sure be nice to spend weekends as a family.
