Friday Photo(s) Flashback

I heard Sinatra sing “I’ve Got a Crush on You” on Sirius XM coming into work last night. It reminded me of a blog I wrote a few years ago. For newer subscribers, this is new. For those who have been with me a while, enjoy this updated “Reblog.”

Today’s blog comes from a daily writing prompt. While this topic has often come up in conversations with friends over the years, I’m surprised I’ve never written about it. The prompt: “Did you have a Celebrity Crush growing up?” If I am being honest, I had a few. Sometimes, the only reason I watched a specific TV show was because of the celebrity crush.

I am guessing that many of these gals made the lists of many young men. I guess you’d call many of them sex symbols. Here is my list:

Lynda Carter – Wonder Woman

My goodness, she was and still is simply beautiful. As a young boy watching her beat the snot of out bad guys, my heart was all a flutter.

Marilu Henner – Taxi

Really, it was seeing her in Johnny Dangerously that did it for me for Marilu. She, like Lynda, is still as beautiful as ever. In Johnny Dangerously, she played a very flirty character who plays hard to get. Gorgeous.

Jaclyn Smith – Charlie’s Angels

Of all the “angels,” I thought she was the prettiest. This made me in the minority. Farrah was pretty, but I thought Jaclyn was prettier.

Catherine Bach – The Dukes of Hazzard

Catherine Bach had me smitten before I saw her Daisy Dukes. I still hope to make it out to one of the many Dukes events where she appears just to meet her.

Nancy McKeon – Facts of Life

This may come as a surprise. There was something about Nancy’s character on Facts of Life that attracted me to her. Her love for cars? I don’t know. Sorry Blair.

Erin Gray – Buck Rogers in the 25th Century

Holy Moly, Buck Rogers was full of beautiful women. But Erin Gray topped them all. Those outfits had many boys eyeballs glued to the TV.

Christina Applegate – Married With Children

This crush was one that really hit me. She was about the same age as me on the show. Christina is still beautiful and I pray for her and her health struggles.

Olivia Newton John – Grease

Olivia had beauty and an angelic voice. Then there was the black leather pantsuit……

Marisa Tomei – My Cousin Vinny

Marisa is one of the most beautiful women in the world. Fight me on this. Perhaps it is the Italian aspect that thrills me, but I think she is just amazing. An amazing actress and I have not heard anyone say a bad thing about her.

Carrie Fisher – Star Wars

Seven-year old me just loved seeing this beautiful princess in Star Wars. Spunky and sexy.

Tiffani Thiessen – Saved By The Bell

I never watched the show, but there is no denying that Tiffani is a gorgeous woman. I follow her on social media and her videos are often playful and fun. That makes her even sexier to me.

Paula Abdul – MTV

Boy could she dance! She was just amazing. When I saw her on American Idol, I didn’t always agree with her picks and thoughts, but she definitely falls into my crush list.

I’m probably forgetting a few ….
