The work that they are doing on our street has been more than annoying. We’re having to park on side streets because we can’t get to our driveway. Our mail is not being delivered because the mail lady can’t get to our street. Whatever happened to “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds!?” Oh, and Amazon called Sam to tell her they couldn’t figure out how to get a package to the house. It’s insane!
The thing that I’m not really happy about is the new lawn decoration that the construction crew has placed in front of my house ….

I understand that the workers need one of these, but is this really where it needed to be?
Of course, the kids thought it was awesome. Sam actually had to tell Ella that she needed to stay out of it! Urgh!

I already have to use earplugs for noise. I suppose I will be needing nose plugs for the stink, too.
Funny Thought
I thought other bloggers and folks who use social media would chuckle at this. Saw this on the net earlier:
“Remember when people had diaries and got made when people read them? Now, they put everything online and get mad when people don’t!”
So true!

Oh no! Not something you want the kids to explore 😂

Every time I see one of those horrid things wherever construction is going on, I think “Those poor people inside who have to look at that!” … although I must admit one of the company names was quite clever. It was “Call Ahead”!

Ooowww…I guess it has to go somewhere. I see those where I live downtown where buildings are being worked on–they all have padlocks on them, I presume to keep homeless people out of them. I’m wondering how the union looks upon workers having to obtain a key from their supervisor before they can use the facility.
I have low expectations when it comes to my blog’s readership. So far, they have been met.

what a drag. Let’s hope they finish it up soon and move along to the next block. I can understand the USPS position but you’d think they would just park their truck nearby and walk along the street door to door. So true that last thought about the diary!

An unfortunate placement to be certain. I guess they didn’t consider wheelers and strollers getting passed!

Is this a re-pave of the road or are they laying fiber optic cables?
These days, delivery services…USPS, UPS, FedEx, et al…want to get by with as little as possible. There used to be some integrity in those services. Now, you get s*** thrown up on your porch and good luck if anything is intact.
We just had two of our small town’s road re-paved. Much was delayed.

Looks like they are replacing sewer pipes, water lines, and who knows what else – on top of repaving the entire street. The plan is to be done by November!
