By Friday, I was moving around a bit more thanks to medications. My back was still hurting a bit, but at least I was able to get around. My youngest kids stayed over at Nana’s on Friday night. I had called my older boys to see if they were free for dinner, but they had plans. So we decided on lunch on Saturday.
Friday night, It was just me at home. So I did something that I never seem to have time to do – I watched a movie. A FULL movie! It was crazy to not have interruptions. I watched Nuremburg with Russell Crowe and Rami Malek. It was surprisingly good. Crowe was really good as Hermann Goering.
On Saturday I got up and got ready to meet my sons. They had picked a place they had wanted to try called Charcoal and Ash. It has been talked about as being a sports bar, but it is more of a high end bistro. They had steaks, burgers, and chicken. It was a bit pricy, which made me chuckle watching them look at the menu. We had good conversation and it was nice to spend time with them.

They must have known that I was about to go and get a new flag for the house. After the last couple storms, mine got tore up pretty bad. They gave me a new flag to hang for Father’s Day.

On Sunday, it was pretty quiet. My kids and I just hung around the house. They had bought a card for me when they were with Nana.

I love that they are both signing their names now. We didn’t do a lot, but it was a nice day just the same.
A radio friend posted this with a photo of his children this week:
“To his children, their father is just a chapter in their lives. But, to the father, his children are the whole book!”
What a truly amazing quote!
Monday was the final T-Ball game of the season. Both played hard in the field…

And both had decent hits!

I truly hope that they continue to play ball. I have really enjoyed being able to watch them.
Now, it is time to relax and enjoy summer.
