This weekend, my daughter had a playdate with a friend. While she was there, my son and I were out killing time. He likes to walk through the Goodwill and antique stores with me. I came across a hat at one that made me laugh.
It reminded me of that scene in Caddyshack where Rodney Dangerfield picks up the hat that Ted Knight coincidently is wearing in the background. He says it’s the worst looking hat he’s ever seen. He then says, “…you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup!”
Different patterns, but the joke still made me laugh.

Sometimes I see something that I really want to get because I had it growing up. Sometimes it is a toy, or an old game, or just something that my grandparents had. This weekend I spotted this cup:
In 1984, when the Detroit Tigers were the hottest team in baseball, 7-11 or some gas station had these Tiger cups. Each one had a different member of the team on them. I am sure that we had the entire set at one time. This immediately caught my eye because I loved to watch Aurelio Lopez pitch. He and Willie Hernandez were about as solid as you get in closing out a ball game. I’m not sure what they were asking for these, but I had to get a picture.

A few years back, my aunt and uncle moved to Florida. They had a house here in Michigan that they would stay in when they came up in the summer. This is pretty normal for a lot of retired Michigan folks. At any rate, due to schedules not lining up, I missed them the last year or two. I was glad to have the opportunity to have dinner with them and one of my cousins Monday.
My cousin was living over in Wales (and actually got married over there), and is here in Michigan for a bit for her husband’s job. My aunt and uncle are here for their summer visit of their grand and great grands. I hate that it had been so long in getting together, but it was nice to have the time together.
My other cousin was missed, as well as my brother. We’re hoping to find a day where we can get the four of us together. It really needs to be sooner than later.

We have Roku TV. I don’t watch much TV, but the other night I woke up in the middle of the night and felt like I couldn’t fall back to sleep. So I popped on the TV and started surfing. To my surprise, I found one of my favorite shows ….
Alfred Hitchcock Presents was very much like the Twilight Zone. The story always seemed to have a great twist at the end of it. While the Twilight Zone would feature Rod Serling delivering a final thought provoking idea at the end of each episode, Hitch would often have some sort of comedic ending. He always poked fun at the sponsors, too.
Needless to say, I wound up being up for a bit watching Dick York, Charles Bronson, and Robert Loggia in classic episodes of the show before finally, dozing off. I also found out that Peacock has the entire series available to stream, so I plan on spending some time with Al over the next few weeks.
