I've seen a couple bloggers I follow post this in one way, shape or form. I thought it would be a quick and fun thing to do. Two options are presented - you have to pick one. You are supposed to tag someone else to answer the questions, but I won't do that. Feel free … Continue reading This Or That?

Thanks, Kevin!
I have made it no secret that I love to read the "educational" portion of the newspaper. I am referring, of course, to the comics! A few years ago, when I started my blog, I even devoted a blog to them and talked about many of my favorites. You can read about that here: https://nostalgicitalian.com/2019/06/01/the-comics/ … Continue reading Thanks, Kevin!
A Holiday Dozen
I mentioned to my friend Max that I had hoped to post a Christmas song every day from December 1st through Christmas Day. When it comes to holiday tunes, I could probably post a favorite Christmas song for every day of the year ... At any rate, rather than spend the time to do that, … Continue reading A Holiday Dozen
Just call me gullible
It is not odd for my wife to send me pictures of things she wants to buy. Among some of the things she has sent: the theme for the baby's nursery, gift ideas for the boys, gift ideas for her, possible places to vacation, and things for the house. Just the other day, she was … Continue reading Just call me gullible
Oh Christmas Tree …
Happy December to you! Maybe it is because Thanksgiving was so late this year, but it is hard to believe that we are less than a month from Christmas! The reality of that sunk in this weekend as I did a couple shifts at Cars 108 and we are playing all Christmas music. One song … Continue reading Oh Christmas Tree …
Bedtime Books
Today's blog comes from a "Daily Writing Prompt". The prompt reads: "Do you remember your favorite book from your childhood?" This prompt comes after I stumbled on a set of books that I had as a kid in a used book store. The Charlie Brown Dictionary was a set of 8 books that had definitions … Continue reading Bedtime Books
Halloween Dress Up
Tonight on ABC, one of the greatest Halloween specials of all time aired again - It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. It is in this special that poor Charlie Brown utters those sad words, "I got a rock." In that scene, Lucy is wearing a witch mask. It got me to thinking about Halloweens of … Continue reading Halloween Dress Up
The Comics
While prepping for my weekend shift on the radio, I was going through some old prep to see if there was anything that I could recycle or update. In that prep was a line about a paperboy delivering papers. At first I laughed, because, are there even paperboys anymore?! Second, does anyone read the paper … Continue reading The Comics
My Top 20 Favorite Christmas Characters
Growing up, I loved watching all of the various Christmas specials that were shown on TV every year. With the availability of almost all of them on DVD, we can watch them whenever we want - even if it's not during the holiday season! My brother and I would sit in front of the TV … Continue reading My Top 20 Favorite Christmas Characters
Spooky Flicks
My friends Brian and Elaine look forward to October every year. They LOVE Halloween movies! They spend each evening in October in front of their TV watching a different horror movie. What a perfect way to work your way to Halloween! I liked this idea so much, I stole it. I, however, do not care … Continue reading Spooky Flicks
