It’s been busy our way! We’ve been on the go since Saturday. We had to so some running around in preparation for Mother’s Day.
We made cards, bought flowers and a big cookie that was supposed to look like a tic tac toe board with hearts and “Mom” in the middle of it. However, on the ride home, some of the board fell off.

Our daughter is a planner. She compiled a list of all the things we were doing for mom on Mother’s Day.

An interesting list. If you cannot read her writing:
- Breakfast
- Nails
- Games
- Walk
- Plant Flowers
- Trampoline
- Snuggles
- Ice Cream
- Read
- Dinner
- Back Rubs
- Hair Salon
- Video Games
- Go to Park
- Shadow Puppets
We actually made it through a lot of the list! When my wife woke up, they wanted to do her hair. They told her to lay on her stomach while they went to work on her.

Afterward, they painted her nails. They also painted their own, too.

It was a tad messy.
Andrew made a frame at preschool for her, while Ella made a special book.

I cracked up so much when I saw “the hulk” page!
My wife really enjoyed her day.
Monday, I volunteered as a WatchDog at my daughter’s school. They usually rotate you through about four classes during the day. You get to spend lunch and recess with your child. I started in her room and played a math game with the students.
As I was getting ready to go to my next room, they put the school in secure mode. They do this when there is a medical emergency. It keeps the hallways clear and keeps the kids from seeing anything that might upset them. So I got bonus time in her class.

The two classes I was supposed to go to in the afternoon were doing some testing. So they had me hang out in the gym and help with what they were doing in there. It was fun to watch these kids playing the various games as they get ready for field day next month.
Monday night was a big night for both kids. It was their first T-ball game. They got their uniforms and they were excited.

It’s great that they are on the same team this year.
They did something very cool this year. Each kid has a “walk up song” that plays before they bat. The coaches have these portable speakers and it plays through them. Ella chose “Party in the USA” from Miley Cyrus as her song. Andrew is using “Centerfield from John Fogerty.

I think all kids would rather bat than play the field. Ella was very much into fielding Monday night. She was charging at balls and everything. Andrew, on the other hand, was playing in the dirt, putting his hat on all kinds of different ways and …. well, I’m not sure what is going on here:

I was so glad that this year’s games are on at least one day that I can go and watch them.
Tuesday morning, Andrew and I usually go to Tim Hortons before he goes to school. Yesterday, he said he was hungry and wanted pancakes so we went to McDonald’s. He usually gets a decaf coffee and we drink it together. However, he decided to upgrade at McDonald’s – he ordered himself a caramel Frappe.

I was ok with spending the extra couple bucks, because in the end, it’s all about spending time with him.
mother’s day, so cute and sweet and funny. and glad you had quality child time too
