Friday Photo Flashback

I have to admit that I got a chuckle out of today’s photo. My brother will probably hate me for posting it, but maybe he’ll chuckle, too.

I will wait while you laugh … I know, we look utterly ridiculous.

If I had to guess, this photo was probably taken when I was in 6th or 7th grade. I honestly don’t remember. I don’t even remember why it was taken! There was a family photo of us with our parents taken the same day. Was it taken at church? I’m guessing it was, because I don’t ever recall our family going to a studio to get pictures done.

The first thing I gotta mention is the sweaters. Why do I feel like parents pic out the craziest things for siblings to wear for pictures? I don’t feel that we’ve ever made our kids wear anything goofy for their photos. I guess in 20-30 years, they may look back at them and say, “What was mom thinking!?” These sweaters are just ludicrous! What is that pattern? It looks like something you’d find on a totem pole or something!

I would love to make fun of the crazy hairstyle I am wearing (along with the huge glasses), but at the same time, it’s nice to remember that I once has a pretty good amount of hair up there! Man! Look at that hair! You could probably get two or three wigs out of that mop! I will spare my brother a lot of embarrassment and just remind him that his hairstyle worked for Moe of the Three Stooges for years!

I really am not sure what to call the look on our faces either. I mean, are those smiles? As far as me, I’m not sure I’ve ever worn a more cheesy grin. It almost looks like I am half smiling – like the picture was snapped before a full smile was on my face. My brother looks like he is just ready to get the heck out of there. Priceless!

Maybe I should attempt to find another sweater like this for our Ugly Christmas Sweater party at work?
