Since we didn’t get to watch fireworks together, we decided that Monday would be a family day! While my wife caught a few hours of sleep, I packed us a picnic lunch, packed the swim suits & towels, and got us beach ready.
I’m not sure why, but we always seem to go swimming at a pool. It was nice to head out to one of local beaches and catch some rays. As soon as we arrived, the kids ran to the water, despite the fact that it was well past lunch time. My daughter made a friend and soon they were building sand castles. He friend had a little brother, so my son and him hit it off and played, too.
The weather was really perfect. It wasn’t too hot and the occasional breeze was perfect.
The beach is only like 25 minutes from the house, maybe not even that. We’ll definitely have to head out there again. Next time, we’ll bring water shoes. The initial walk into the water is a bit rocky.
It was really a nice family day.
I may or may not have scared some people away going shirtless…..
We didn’t bring our pup, but saw a lot of dogs when we arrived. I’m not sure we could keep her under control there. She’s still very hyper. I’m sure all we’d have to do is open the car door and she’d be willing to go …
She’s scared of water – at least at the house, so if we do bring her, it will be interesting.
