Quickie Answers

Di over at Share Your World posted some questions today that I thought were fun.  A few bloggers I follow answered these, too.  Here are my answers:

If you could rename yourself, what name would you choose and why?

I’ve always been fascinated with a good name.  Even more so with a funny name.  One time, my morning show partner pranked some guy saying his name was “Michael McClingling.” That still cracks me up.

I’m pretty happy with my name, but if I had to come up with something, I’d probably steal something from the kid’s show Bluey.  In it, Bandit pretends to be “Romeo McFlourish!” I love that!

If you were tasked with naming a new star, what would you name it and why?

I always wondered how folks were always able to be creative with naming stars or street signs.  There are just so many.  Obviously, many stars remain unnamed because they have those commercials for naming stars after yourself or a loved one.

My first thought would be to name it something silly, like something out of Monty Python.  You know, like, “Tarquin Fin-Tim-Lim-Bim-Lim-Bin-Bim-Bus Stop F’tang F’tang Ole Biscuit Barrel.”. Then I just decided on “Joe Crawley.” (Those who know, know why.)

If you were a story/comic book hero, what would your name be and why?

Do I get super powers? I mean, that would play into the name, wouldn’t it? Electro-dude, Speed Demon, etc…

I don’t know, how about The Italian Falcon? Why? It flows off the tongue…

If animals could talk, which would be the rudest?

Based on experience, probably cats. I mean, really, they can be jerks!

  1. Back in the day when I was younger and single, a night out included a lot of flirting. One thing we ladies never did was give anyone our real names. My problem was I could never think of a better name than the one I have. I never felt like anyone else but Grace. (I was supposed to be named Graziella but my mother didn’t know how to spell it and no one would tell her. )

    1. I never really did a whole lot of nights out until I was about 26. I’m not sure whether gals gave real names, but I know a few friends who got a lot of wrong numbers.

The first thought that came to mind with that question was Chevy Chase in the Fletch movies. He was always making up names on the spot.

  2. So what would your special skill be if you were the Italian Falcon? That you were from Italy or that you could fly?

“Romeo McFlourish!” – What a name. You can now go to RNG – nope not random number generators but random name generators 🙂

    1. That question shouldn’t have taken me that long to answer, but it did. I was trying to think about other super heroes and Hawk from the Super friends came to mind. That led me to “falcon” somehow.

I’m guessing I would be able to fly, and I would certainly have an amazing power or negotiation! (Offers that can’t be refused!)

The first time I heard “Romeo McFlourish” I guffawed out loud. I love that name!!!

      1. Or perhaps flying and a wicked pasta?

        It’s a seriously cool name 🙂

Imagine it as the James Bond replacement.

McFlourish. Romeo McFlourish …. yep that could work and more so if they were a flying falcon who made a wicked pasta and could knock a villian over at 50 yards with a well done pizza base …
