I am a computer dummy. I can type and print things, but when it comes to certain things, I am clueless. Therefore, I am writing this in hopes that one of my amazing readers/followers might be able to help me.
As many of you know, I have a few features here on my blog (Tune Tuesday, Book Recommendations, on occasion Friday Photo Flashback, and a few others I may bring back). I have been thinking about creating a couple other weekly features, but I’d like to create some kind of logo for them.
Do you know what I’m talking about? Many bloggers have a picture with the title of their feature on it that they designed. It is the picture that will be at the top of that particular blog post. The Daily Dose of Scripture might have a Bible on it with those words. Manic Monday Moaning might have a guy pulling out his hair and spilling coffee. Some bloggers are doing the 2024 April A to Z challenge and that has it’s on graphic.
I was hoping that (if it is easy enough) one of my readers might want to help me out with creating some. (If you want to suggest a free app or cheap way to do it myself, you can, but I’m still not sure I’d be able to figure it out.) I would certainly make sure that you are mentioned/thanked in the blogs that I use the graphic, if you choose to give me a hand.

Keith, I’m close to your level on a pc even though I’ve used one since the early 90s. WP has a logo design widget that works, but not great. It’s hard to post a picture with a title without changing your whole main blog picture. They don’t make it easy for us dummies. spicwelen has a blog, he is an IT guy, contact him for some help.

If you want to call me…I might be able to help you. I’m ok in Adobe Illustrator… I worked as a grahic designer…but that was mostly remaking logos and such.

I use Canva to design all of my graphics. It is simple and quick and sometimes they have templates already ready for you to go and just plug your information into. They have a free subscription but I pay a monthly fee because I also use it to advertise my books. I can gladly give you some tips or help you out with making a few if needed. I use it on my laptop, which is a lot easier, or phone. I have some photoshop experience as well but never got into Adobe Illustrator.

Thank you Lisa! I will look into it. Every so-called free thing I found on the web let me design something and once I was done it wanted money. If the free is truly free, I will try it. I don’t need a whole lot, maybe 5 or 6 to start and then one here and there as time goes on. 🙂

I finally got the montly subscription because I ended up using it so often — for book advertising, blog, Instagram, Facebook groups, etc. etc.

I should add that I actually find the designing fun. I find it too fun sometimes and forget that I have other things in life to do and that I’m not getting paid for making graphics for my social media and blog and need to get a life and get off there. 🙂
