The Detroit Tigers aren’t having the best year, but it has been neat to see all the wonderful tributes to Miguel Cabrera from teams in both leagues as he plays his final year. It was great to see just how much other players and fans like him.
This week the Astros were in town. The Astro’s beat the pants off the Tigers 17-4. Now if you can get past that (which is hard for this Tiger fan), there was one very cool moment that has all of baseball talking.
Picture it –
Former and current Detroit Tigers (Justin Verlander and Miguel Cabrera)
Both of them great in their own right. Both of them probably First Ballot Hall of Famers.
This would be the last day they would ever face each other in a regular season. Without saying a word, both “tipped” their caps to each other in great respect and friendship.
I'm just a guy who likes the classics. I love Old Time Radio Shows. I love Classic TV. I love Classic Movies. I love songs from the "Great American Songbook". I dig songs from the first decade of Rock and Roll. Don't get me wrong, I am not opposed to newer things. My musical taste ranges from Classical to Classic Rock and Country to Rap. I love a good book and am always looking for something to read. I tend to lean toward historical fiction, biographies, mysteries, and more.
I have always believed that our past (and the things we've experienced in it) make us who we are today. That being said, after reading through some old My Space blogs (yeah, that's about how long it's been since I blogged regularly), I decided that I should once again write. Welcome to my blog. I hope you find it interesting, thought provoking, and entertaining in some way.

totally agreed. Nice little show of mutual respect , and let’s not forget, they were teammates for some (9?) years there in Detroit. Definitely two easy Hall of Fame candidates, JV is to me the best pitcher of his era by a good measure and Miggy has had such a long career his numbers are among best ever. My highlight of baseball prognostication was the year he won the Triple Crown, I had actually predicted it in spring training.
He was a great player! One of the best of his generation.
You know Keith…well you will know what I’m talking about…it’s a damn shame that they didn’t win a World Series back in 2012 when they were friggin loaded!!! They were the better team…but they had everything but a bullpen…I’m still stunned that they never won a WS with him…
I love that they did they, both class acts
