I have written about Linda a couple times on this blog. Both times were in connection with Dave Ruch’s music feature, Turntable Talk. The first one can be found here. The second one is here.
I have always loved her voice and was devastated when I heard she could no longer sing. It seems like her music has always ben a part of my life. Until I looked at a list of her songs, I didn’t realize just how many covers she did. Blue Bayou, When Will I Be Loved, It’s So Easy, Just One Look, Tracks of My Tears, Poor Poor Pitiful Me, That’ll Be The Day, Desperado, and so many others were all cover songs!
Her albums with Nelson Riddle are among my favorites. She had hoped to do one more album with him, but he passed away. So she took those songs and made the album, Hummin’ To Myself. One of my favorite cuts from that album is, I’ll Be Seeing You. It’s a beautiful song by a beautiful lady.
I'm just a guy who likes the classics. I love Old Time Radio Shows. I love Classic TV. I love Classic Movies. I love songs from the "Great American Songbook". I dig songs from the first decade of Rock and Roll. Don't get me wrong, I am not opposed to newer things. My musical taste ranges from Classical to Classic Rock and Country to Rap. I love a good book and am always looking for something to read. I tend to lean toward historical fiction, biographies, mysteries, and more.
I have always believed that our past (and the things we've experienced in it) make us who we are today. That being said, after reading through some old My Space blogs (yeah, that's about how long it's been since I blogged regularly), I decided that I should once again write. Welcome to my blog. I hope you find it interesting, thought provoking, and entertaining in some way.

Linda Ronstadt not only is a tremendous but also a versatile versatile vocalist. I only fully realized that when watching the great documentary “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice” about five years ago. Ronstadt could literally sing anything, from country to rock to opera.
Like you I was pretty sad when learning about her progressive supranuclear palsy as part of the documentary. At the same time, I thought it was very inspiring how she deals with it – basically being grateful for what she had while it lasted!
one of the best voices of all time

A tremendous talent, one of the best song ‘interpreters’ of our times and a classy lady. Hope she has a great day!
